| | About vehicle A proud tradition
the engine of the gtb4, also known as the daytona, was installed up front, so it didnt have the unusual shape of mid-engine cars. It did have a tubular chassis, steel body panels, thin doors, and smart interior glass areas and air vents. And like all ferraris, its sound was great: The big 4.4-liter, four-cam engine remained quiet at lower speeds, then revved with a husky timbre through its rapid acceleration.
aint misbehavin
the daytona was a smoothie: Even at upward of 170 mph, it gave a stable ride, despite the aerodynamic lightness that made it so eye¬catching. Unlike its rival, the lamborghini miura, the daytona retained stability at high speeds, at the sacrifice of some flamboyance.
with the daytona, ferrari produced what just may have been, for its time, the best all-around two-seater in the world. The 365 gtb4 daytona was ferraris response to the introduction of the lamborghini miura. |
