| | About vehicle Three different engines
this turbocharged 2 + 2 convertible was a joint effort by maserati and chrysler, which owned a piece of maserati. Besides the chrysler 135-cu.-in. Overhead-cam four-cylinder engine there was also a more powerful lotus-developed version, at no extra cost, with two overhead cams and a 16-valve cylinder head. A nonturbocharged mitsubishi three-litre v6 engine became optional for 1990.
like a lebaron ragtop
the tc resembled the chrysler lebaron convertible, with a small grille and full-width headlight and taillight treatment. The interior had leather upholstering, and air conditioning, antilock disc brakes and power steering, windows, locks and front seats were standard. In addition to the fabric top, there was the option
of a detachable fiberglass hardtop. Sales did not meet expectations, and the tc was dropped after about 7,500 were produced. The chrysler-maserati tc was a very fast sports convertible when equipped with a lotus-developed engine. A 1985 prototype is shown here. |
