the 1965 corvette has been ranked by autoweek magazine as one of the fifty fastest production cars ever made and sold in the United States. The outright bulk of the 396 turbo-jet v8 brought about the introduction of four-wheel disc brakes. This new system, put in every corvette until the end of 1982, had some problems, but it could stop the car as fast as it could accelerate.
