Ruxton - 1929-1930

One of the earliest frontwheel-drive cars, the ruxton was named for a stockbroker who, in the end, declined to invest in it. He had a good reason: The stock market crash of 1929 did not create a good economic climate for a new luxury car. And there was another problem -at first, there was no factory to build the car. Furthermore, e.l. Cords new frontwheel-drive l29 beat the ruxton to the marketplace. Somehow the venture got off the ground, but fewer than 500 ruxtons were made.
