About vehicle
Sporty goats built on a 112-in. Wheelbase, the gto was an intermediate-size car for this period, slightly more than 200 in. Long. These sporty goats came with dual exhausts, hurst floor shift, sports-type heavy-duty springs and shock absorbers, hidden quad headlights and air scoops on the hood. The standard engine was a 400-cu.-in. V8. But a 455 was also available. here come the judge in december 1968, pontiac introduced the judge performance option for the gto, including a choice of two 400-cu.-in. Ram air v8 engines, a rear spoiler and many other supercar features. But the gto was not to outlive the muscle-car era it so personified. For the 1971 model year its engines were detuned, and for 1972 gto was only an option package for the lemans hardtop coupe and convertible. After 1973 even this option disappeared.
With a choice of big v8 engines, the pontiac gto embodied the muscle-car em. But for 1972 it was merely a lemans option package.
