| | About vehicle Smaller, smooth and quiet
the totally new lincoln continental body was boxy to preserve interior space and sharply angular, including creases on the bodysides. The familiar upright grille and raised hood center affirmed that this was indeed a continental, albeit a small one. Comfort was enhanced with the addition to the suspension of gas-filled shocks at each corner to even out the ride. Some 100 lbs. Of sound deadener assured quiet motoring.
designer colors
in addition to the base model, the continental came in a signature series identifying itself in script on several places and featuring two-tone paint in three special color combinations. A bit pricier was the givenchy designer series, with the clothing stylists signature on the rear quarter windows and on a golden plate on the
dashboard. Givenchy body paint combined unique black and medium-dark mulberry metallic. Radically reduced in size and weight, the 1982 lincoln continental rested on a wheelbase of only 109 in. |
