The lancia lambda was one of the most advanced automobiles of its time, with a revolutionary overhead-cam v4 engine, a monocoque hull and independent front suspension. The result was outstanding handling, roadholding and comfort.

About vehicle
Unitary construction the lambdas hull consisted of pressed-steel members riveted together like a ship and covered with steel panels. The seats were staggered to keep the low body as narrow as possible. The cars original 122-in. Wheelbase was supplemented in 1925 by a 135-in. Version for larger models. To accommodate these heavier lambdas, the compact v-engine was expanded from 2.1 litres to 2.4 litres in 1927 and 2.6 litres in 1928. The transmission was increased from three to four speeds in 1925. different bodies the early lambdas were four-place torpedos open touring cars with a rear folding top. The factory also supplied hardtops that converted the cars to sedans or coupes de ville. In 1926 lancia started making a lambda six-passenger sedan and also began offering a platform chassis on which outside coachbuilders constructed a variety of different bodies. Almost 12,000 lambdas were produced.
This rakish spider (open two-seater) was built in 1925 by casaro on a special lancia lambda chassis. Only about 20 or 25 were made.
