| | About vehicle Grudge match
industrialist ferruccio lamborghini drove ferraris until the day that enzo ferrari refused to grant him an audience at the ferrari factory. Ferruccio vowed to build an automobile that would make ferrari wish he had been more polite. The lamborghini 350 gs was the result, and the 400 gt was its refinement.
so there
everything under the lamborghinis broad hood suggested an italian intramural competition. The four-liter, 360hp vi2 had double-overhead-cams (the ferrari had a single-cam arrangement). The lamborghini had sound damping, whereas many ferraris screamed through the higher decibel ranges. The lamborghini had six weber carbs feeding its twelve cylinders, the transmission boasted a fifth speed, and the 400 gt was reassuringly solid at its top speed of 156 mph (unlike the nervous dance of the ferrari). In the rush to best ferrari, however, lamborghini didnt
always concern himself with details: The 400 gts 16-gallon gas tank was supposed to hold 20 gallons, and the sun visors didnt swing to the side. Few drivers seemed to mind. This lambo competed well in a marketplace where expensive grand touring cars were offered to discriminating buyers. |
