| | About vehicle blueblood of all cars
kaiser sales brochures pompously proclaimed that the virginian was the blueblood of all cars and that it personified the southern spirit of pride and importance. in its general form, the 206.5-in.-long model resembled other kaisers. A full-width horizontal grille and fenders with extra overhang gave the 1949 kaisers a lower appearance than the 1948s. Only the virginian, however, had a three-part wraparound rear window. The kaiser engine was a 112hp six-cylinder.
plush appointments
the virginian had a wider chrome molding running the length of the car than lower-end kaisers, as well as carpeting in front and a
padded dashboard. Rear fender skirts were extra. Production totaled 950, including leftovers reserialed as 1950 models. This does not include 152 unsold virginians converted into 1951 frazer manhattan hardtops. The hardtop convertible kaiser virginian was actually a sedan that tried hard to present itself as a convertible for southern aristocrats. |
