Isotta-fraschini 8a - 1924-1932

Even after fiat decided not to produce its long-rumored twelve-cylinder superfiat, italy continued to dominate the market for exports to the United States during the thirties. One key reason was the completely new look that isotta-fraschini gave to its popular tipo 8a model in its debut year of 1924.

Specifications performance
Top speed of 87 mph engine typedrivetrain: Vertical in-line 8 displacement 7,370 cc (7.37 l) power rating 115 hp transmission 3-speed manual + reverse chassis: 4-wheel mechanical servo brakes; 3,190 lbs.

About vehicle
The future is now with an eye toward enhancing both performance and comfort, virtually every aspect of the vehicle was restudied. The new tipo 8a was still huge, with a 146-inch wheelbase, but the design now anticipated that of the great classics of the next decade. Thanks to the strengthening and widening of the frame side-members, the car had a new rigidity that made it more versatile. for sportier types during this period, lsotta-fraschini also produced a more prestigious high-performance variation on its popular eight-cylinder engine. This alternative sports version, made regularly only between 1925 and 1927, was characterized by higher compression pistons, a special carburetor and inlet manifold, oversized valves and lower numerical final-drive ratios. In either form, the tipo 8a became a standard-bearer for a nation of legendary automakers.
With a forward-looking design sensibility, isotta-fraschini sculpted elegant cars that featured eye-catching art-deco details. Thesa was a perfect example
