| | About vehicle Fast fastback coupe
this 2 + 2 fastback coupe was styled by bertone, which also built the body on the rivolta platform. A long hood and cut-off tail, concealed horizontal dual headlights, blackened grille, side louvers and lots of glass characterized the model. The original engine was a 35o-cu.-in. Chevy v8, although a bigger one could be ordered. A ford cleveland 351-cu.-in. V8 became standard in 1973. A lele with this or another ford engine (such as the bigger cobra let) was called a sport.
production ends
iso switched to ford engines because it needed a ford-cosworth v8 engine for its ill-starred plunge into formula one racing. And there was a special edition of the lele called the marlboro
because the cigarette company backed this venture. Iso fell into bankruptcy in 1975, but a few more leles were made before all production halted by 1980. Total output of the lele was only 317. A fastback sports coupe called the lele was one of the last two iso automobiles in production. |
