traditional in mechanics, the fiat 520 had fourwheel mechanical brakes and semi-elliptic leaf-spring suspension over live (power-transmitting) axles, both front and rear, coupled to friction dampers. Its coil ignition was inspired by american cars. The automobiles side-valve 2.2-litre, 46hp six-cylinder engine was new. This was the first fiat with standard lefthand drive instead of the steering wheel on the right.
