| Although called a berlinetta competizione (competition coupe), the ferrari dino unveiled at the september 1967 frankfurt show was actually an exhibition car that never made it to the track. sporting an aluminum body over a multi-tubular steel chassis, the dino competition coupe had a movable spoiler and four deeply recessed headlights on its front end. The wraparound windshield angled back sharply to a roof of clear perspex that folded out with the gullwing doors. The rear deck had sugar air scoops and terminated in a spoiler on two struts. The cars mechanics included a rear-mounted, four-overhead-cam two-litre v6 engine, three carburetors, a three-disc clutch and dry-sump lubrication.

after its debut in frankfurt, the dino competition coupe was presented at the london and turin shows. It appeared at the first ever international
style exposition for automobiles in 1968, then represented pininfarina in los angeles. After several years in a museum it went to japan for display. More recently, it was one of the models presented at the cartier foundations homage to ferrari exhibition. Despite its name, the ferrari dino competition coupe was for show only, not for racing |
