| | About vehicle Smaller than the luxury model
the gtc4 replaced the 365 gt 2 + 2, which had been ferraris biggest and most luxurious automobile but had fallen short in sales volume. From this luxury model the gtc4 inherited a transmission bolted to the engine. This allowed room for the placement of two small back seats, but the gtc4 had a smaller wheelbase than its predecessor and was not considered a true 2 + 2.
slower than the daytona
the gtc4 could not match the gt 2 + 2 as a luxury model, and it was overshadowed by the two-seat 365 gtb4 daytona as a sports model. It shared with this speedster twin-overhead camshafts for each cylinder bank and six carburetors but could not match the smaller daytonas top speed of more than 170 mph,
which made it ferraris fastest road car. The 365 gtc4 was replaced by the 365 gt4, a 2 + 2 that was longer, higher and wider. For all its speed and elegance, the ferran 365 gtc4 was not as big and luxurious as the gt 2 + 2 and not as fast as the gtb4 daytona. |
